Hand Animation Update
Rough Character Animation from rory animates on Vimeo.
Hey I thought I would post an update over here since I posted an earlier version of my hand, so thanks a lot for all the feed back. An animator from Aardman came to visit the studio this week and called this bit of animation "beautiful" and played it over and over again. So I just wanted to say thanks again for all the feed back and encouragement from everyone on here.

First lip sync
UPDATE:
Here is a new, slightly altered based on the feedback.
I've been working on a lip sync to get some practise in facial animation since we don't get that as an exercise at uni. Concidering this is my first attempt of it, as well as my first time working in Maya when I understand the workflow and tools (though I have some rather less successful, but educational meetings with the program prior to this), I am quite happy with the result, but please give some critique:)
Here is some acting reference I did as well. Unfortunately, it's from an old mobile camera so the quality isn't great..

Old man
A blocking pass for a short character test that I'm currently attempting using the Blik rig. The long term idea is to use the same rig to act out various other ages and emotions. I just wanted to share this to get some feedback before I go to far.
The rig below is called Morpheus and the one I originally started the test with.
Unfortunately I had to drop it in favor of Blik due to my 8 year old laptop being a little to feeble to handle him. However I may still try some shorter dialogue or acting shots with him after getting more familiar with Maya again.

Faces
So, you may have already seen this test of mine but I thought i'd post it here anyway. The Animation Jumble has no regular topics so I thought i'd keep the momentum going. I'm currently working on some CG tests to follow shortly.
I also wanted to share this sequence of images with you! I found it amazing to see how far poses can be pushed 'in real life'. Thought you might enjoy it too!
